So I'm so excited that you're tuning in and get ready for this upcoming show. It is going to be amazing. Well, thank you so much, Brad Pittsley. I'm so excited. I mean, we're here on integrative lime solution with Doctor Carl Feld. You've had your journey and you found your solution, and now you've even started a company based upon the solution that you. That really helped you through your journey. So if you don't mind sharing a little bit what transpired in your life and, yeah, so they can understand. [00:02:12] Speaker C: Hey, I really appreciate it. Thank you for having me on. Yeah, I had a lot of strange illnesses and symptoms going back all the way to second grade, but they really came to a head in 2010 when I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis and autoimmune arthritis. At the same time, my eldest daughter, who had down syndrome, had an arthritis diagnosis as well and started to take the traditional arthritis therapies. And they helped me a little bit. They didn't seem to be helping her at all, but they would eventually wear off and I'd find myself in a worse place. Unfortunately, they have a higher risk of cancer and in a few years, in, I found that I was diagnosed with malignant melanoma. And I knew I needed another way. I was kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place. And that kind of sent me on a journey of looking at different alternate health options for myself. And I kept trying different things and not getting better. And then in 2017, a doctor said he wanted to test me for Lyme. And I didn't believe I had Lyme. I'd never been bitten by a tick that I was aware of. I'd never had that bullseye rash. This test was going to cost me dollar 500. And I remember thinking to myself, I don't have Lyme. This is a waste, but I'm just going to do it just so the doctor gets his head around the fact that I don't have Lyme, and we can get back to solving my problems. And lo and behold, it came back. I had Lyme disease, and I had Bartonella. Hensley. My wife at the time had a variety, had a different form of Lyme and a bunch of other co infections. My children had Lyme disease. And here I was. It was 2017, and my entire family of five had Lyme disease. And I didn't know anything about it. And so I started to research it and always say it's a do it yourself kind of disease. A lot of the time, you just can't find a doctor who's willing to help you. Um, we did. This doctor was very helpful. One of the things he said to me, and I was in a bad place at this time. I didn't just have arthritis, I had Bartonella, foot pain so severe I couldn't get out of bed and walk to the bathroom in the middle of the night without putting on a special pair of shoes. There's only two pairs of shoes that were comfortable enough to wear. The backs of my legs felt like I had just gotten done running an ultramarathon. They were so stiff, I had serious brain fog energy issues. I was just faking it throughout my work day to come home and crash on the couch, and all weekend, just so I could fake it next week, I didn't know how I was going to make it. And he said, you're really bad, and I think you need to try hyperbaric oxygen, or this thing called exercise, with oxygen therapy, otherwise known as ewat. And I researched hyperbaric oxygen, and the protocol was 90 minutes in the tube, seven days a week. And I want to say it was six or eight weeks, and it was going to cost me somewhere between 50,070 $5,000. And that's a massive amount of money, especially when you tried so many other treatment protocols and none of them have seemed to help. It just seemed like just a crazy beta. Then I looked at exercise with oxygen therapy, and it was, hey, do cardio for 15 minutes a day while breathing oxygen. And I was like, in your own home, sort of thing. I'm like, I could do that. And I started to research providers, and I'll be honest, I didn't have a lot of faith in the providers. They didn't have a lot of science. There seemed to be a lot of marketing, and I didn't know what to believe, and I just wasn't ready to plunk down that kind of money either. So I have a mechanical engineering degree and I decided to put it to use and I designed my own system and it really started to help me. And about a year later, I came back to the doctor and I was in a much better place. And he said, are you doing the oxygen? And I said, yeah, I am. And he said, oh, who'd you buy it from so I can tell my other patients? And I said, doctor, I just made my own. And he looked at me shocked and he said, oh, my gosh. He's like, would you consider making them for my patients? And that was kind of the birth of 1000 roads ewat. The thought was, so many of us in the Lyme community, we're so sick, we can't work. It feels like everyone's telling us to spend $20,000 on their idea, and we just don't know where to go. And what if somebody could bring out a product that was affordable and backed by science and people could have some faith in it? That could be very revolutionary. At the time, a lot of these providers were charging a higher price because they were selling to clinics, cryo clinics, doctors clinics, chiropractors, etcetera. And our idea was bring down the price so people could buy these systems and put them in their homes. Because the most powerful benefits you get from EWAT are when you do it consistently over time. And so in order to do any line protocol consistently over time, it needs to be ultra convenient. And so that was our goal and that's kind of how we started. 1000 roads. [00:07:39] Speaker B: That's exciting. So, so when you started, okay, so you're essentially diagnosed with Lyme and you're, I mean, brain fog, I mean, all the neurological, the pain syndromes, inflammatory, so you're dealing with all of that. So when you started with EWAT, I mean, can you kind of tell me a little bit how your symptoms were, how you started kind of notice. I mean, I understand after about a year you're in a much better place, but kind of how. How did that journey, did you feel worse at some points? Did you? Or was it just, you know, all of a sudden this got better, and then all of a sudden this got better, you know, how. How was that journey? [00:08:22] Speaker C: Like, yeah, you know, some folks do e wat and they notice a benefit, like, immediately the first time they're hooked. I was not that person. For the first three months, I didn't notice anything. As a matter of fact, I found a picture. When I first started doing e wot, my feet were so bad. I had this elliptical machine, and I had, like, these one inch thicken gardening foam pads that you kneel on in the garden, on the elliptical petals that I'd wear on. You know, I put them on the elliptical petals between my shoes just for extra cushion because I could just so barely do it. And for three months, I was doing it and I was like, this isn't working, but I want to exercise anyhow, so why not just breathe the oxygen? And then about the three month mark, I noticed I, you know, you start to think when you got 57 symptoms, you don't notice when twelve of them go away, but I started to notice, I'm like, wait a second. You know, the ache in my knee is. Remember that? That's kind of gone. Wow, that's interesting. Well, is that just because, you know, sometimes you have the roving pains of Lyme or not? I don't know. I guess I'll kind of keep an eye on it. Hey. It never showed back up. Some of the earliest benefits I noticed was more energy, and that was so critical for me. Just, like, having more energy to make it through the day. At first, I didn't have the energy to make it through the day plus the weekends, but I didn't have to fake it quite so much at work. And then I started to notice brain fog improvement and pain improvement. And those are just, I mean, such huge quality of life. We all know it's hard to completely get rid of Lyme disease, but the very first goalpost is like, give me some quality of life and give me some hope that there's like, you know, I can climb the staircase and get somewhere. And for me, that was just so huge when I was like, wait a second, I'm like, no longer having to fake it to make it through the day. I'm not going to tell you I feel wonderful, but I can do it. And that was exciting for me. The interesting thing for me though, was I continued to notice incremental benefits from EWAT into the third year. And that still shocks me when I tell folks that, because if you started a new exercise protocol today, just exercise, you'd figure by three months, certainly by six months, your body would just be adjusted to it and that would be it. But for me, I continued to notice benefits, whether it be athletic benefits or just general health and wellness benefits. Pains going away, weird symptoms going away well into the third year. And so that's why I would say the power of ewat is that it's only 15 minutes a session, and you only have to do three or five sessions a week to get great results. And I know what it's like when you're in a Lyme disease world. I would say it's always about the ceremonies. Whether the ceremony is counting out pills or taking pills, or going in a sauna or doing this, or the special food you're going to eat, it's all just like, you come up with one more protocol and like, I can do that, and you're like, it's, yeah, it's another ten minutes, but you eventually get to the point where your plate's full and you're like, yeah, if I do all this stuff all day long, I might have five minutes of decentness before I go to bed and start over. And that becomes a challenge. You just kind of have to pick and choose. And so, for me, this was just so powerful because it was 15 minutes a day. I did it at the beginning of the day, so nothing got in the way of it. And over time, you see so many great improvements. Let's discover yours together. [00:14:04] Speaker B: And, you know, obviously dealing with Lyme, I mean, this, this, yeah, it's, it's such a hopeless diagnosis for, for so many people. Did you, so you tested positive? Did you ever repeat test again to see where you at or you just kind of felt good? I feel good. So there's no reason I haven't repeat tested. [00:14:27] Speaker C: You know, when people ask me, how do I feel compared to how I started, I'd say I'm somewhere between 95 and 99. I don't know if you ever really fully get rid of Lyme disease. What I tell you is Lyme disease doesn't in any way rule my life anymore. Do I think if I had, like, some traumatic injury and something else, it couldn't, I couldn't start to have, you know, an arthritic, you know, ache in one of my joints or something? It's possible, but I just, it, you know. Yeah, I don't feel anything. It doesn't really bug me at all in any way, shape or form. I have plenty of energy. I, I have all the energy I need every day. I never have brain fog. You know, if I have an ache, it might be something I feel one day and, like, you know, four days out of the year sort of thing, and I move on sort of thing. Like, oh, yeah, my knuckles aching me. Hey, it's because it's raining and I move on, sort of thing, and it's not there tomorrow. So, um, yeah, so it's, it's really been powerful. And you know what? I'm one of those people who went in deep into the research to kind of figure out what the heck was going on with me. And if you do a lot of the research online, what you find what it does is, and the co infections is basically they create a bunch of inflammation. The inflammation makes it very difficult for your immune system to work appropriately, makes it very difficult for your body to detox. They toxify your body, which further suppresses your immune system, and, and then basically that makes the environment more hospitable to them and it makes it absolutely miserable for you. And Lyme itself really loves to attack a specific type of cell called the endothelial cell. And these are like gatekeeper cells. They're all over our bodies, they line our blood vessels, they form the blood brain barrier. There are various organs of the body doing different things. And really the way to think of endothelial cells is they allow one thing through, but not the other. So in the blood vessels, they let the oxygen out of, they don't let the blood cells and the blood plasma leak out into your body, sort of thing. And they just love to attack there and cause inflammation. And basically, anywhere in your body you have an injury and inflammation, they kind of like heat seeking missiles, they go find it and they amplify it. And that just creates more environment for them. And for me, I had Bartonella. Bartonella likes to do that and it also likes to create, it loves the blood vessels. What it likes to do is create, amplify VEGF, which is vascular endothelial growth factor. What that does is it creates more blood vessels for something like Bartonella. What it does is it creates this environment where your body thinks it's starving of oxygen and it wants to create more blood vessels and then it infects those blood vessels. So it just keeps creating more real estate for itself, so it can take over more and more of your body. And so with things like some of these co infections, like Bartonella and Babesia, a lot of them are, Lyme hates oxygen. So when you start flooding the body with oxygen, some folks will have a detoxification reaction. And that's one of the things we caution folks, when you start EWAt with Lyme is start slowly and listen to your body. Something a lot of you have heard out there before. You definitely need to do that with ewat, sometimes you don't do, you don't do a 15 minutes session, you do a couple minutes and see how you do and slowly work yourself up, because nobody needs that Herxenheimer reaction. It's of no good and it's not a benefit to you. Um, but then I have folks come to us sometimes and say, well, what about some of these oxygen loving co infections like Babesia? Is this just going to feed it? And heres the deal is these infections, theyre getting all the oxygen they want, youre starving, theyre doing just fine in spite of you. And so, no, it doesnt promote growth of some of these co infections. It actually changes some of the inflammatory dynamics in the body. It helps detoxify the body. And really its about, it's kind of about terraforming inside of you. It's about turning the dynamics of your body so that they're more tuned to what you need and less tuned what these infections need. [00:19:00] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. And that's the thing, is that a healthy cell where the mitochondria is functioning optimally, it is not going to be impacted by these infections as much. It's going to be able to clear out of viruses that get in there and other type of toxins and that interfere with energy production there. So cellular function is key when you deal with these chronic infections. What are some of the others we talked about? It seems like it then upregulates immune system. We have cd 57 is a common one we look at in relationship to Lyme. So it will support the cd 57 white blood cell function. It will then reduce inflammation. And we know these pathogens, it's not really the pathogens in themselves. It's the metabolic waste that it spews out. And these neurotoxins and chemicals that is then creating the inflammation and also causing immune system create confusion in the immune system. And then it sounds like it also supports detoxification as well, because obviously, if we turn on energy production, it's kind of like somebody at home that's exhausted. It's not going to clean out the closets, somebody that has lots of energy, they're going to keep on doing projects, clean out everything, and the home is going to look beautiful. So it's the same within the cells. If it has energy, it's going to be able to move things out. Are there other areas that you know, that you know where it's beneficial as well for people to understand? Yeah. The far reaching impact of Ewat. [00:20:52] Speaker C: Yeah. What I will always say is detoxification is almost more important than fighting the infection, particularly early on. And one experience I'll tell you, I had just to explain the power of how strong it is in detoxification is. I was trying a new line protocol while I was doing Ewat early on, and it was a liposomal herbal concoction, and I'm kind of a classic non responder in Lyme. I do something, I wouldn't feel anything. No herxenheimer. I didn't know if it was working or not, sort of thing. And I took this liposomal formula and immediately I had a massive headache. I mean, it was like, wow, I have to go lay down, I'm in a lot of trouble. And so I was right before I was about to go do ewat, so I said, well, im just going to go out and do ewat. And I was shocked. By the time I was done with that 15 minutes session, I had the slightest residual headache. It was from a level twelve on his ten point scale sort of headache to, oh, its like a two or three. Yeah, you take some willow bark or whatever youre going to take and kind of move on with your day. And I'm not the smartest person in the world, so the next day I had to know if that was from that. And I did it again to myself and immediately, yep, it was. And again, I did the e wat. So it's so great for folks who are dealing with Herx and Heimer reaction after you get up that curve where you can do it now at first, because it's, you know, it's anti Lyme and it can kill Lyme if early on, if you do a lot of it, it can cause a major Herzenheim reaction because you just killed off a bunch of stuff. So, but once you get over that hump and your body's used to the oxygen, it's such a powerful detoxification agent. People tell me all the time. They're like, I was, I did something and I was having a Herx reaction and I got on and did Ewat and it like totally saved my day and my weekend, sort of thing. So that's huge. Um, obviously, the energy and the brain fog, um, it's one of the most powerful pieces of research I did as I was getting into EwAT, was I? I read this study that said anywhere in the body you have inflammation, you have what's known medically as hypoxia. And hypoxia is just a fancy medical term for low oxygen or oxygen starvation. And anywhere in the body you have hypoxia, you have inflammation. Theyre two sides of the same coin. So if you want to turn off the inflammation, you need to flood the body with oxygen. And so what ewat does is it doesnt just use your red blood cells, because if you look at your red blood cells right now, what you discover is theyre probably at 98 or 99% capacity. Theres not a lot of room for more oxygen. When you do ewat, you also oxygenate the blood plasma, which typically only carries like 2% of your oxygen. But because there's so much oxygen coming in, it saturates into the blood plasma and it's able to get into places in your body where those red blood cells cannot get because of the inflammation. And it helps actually reestablish blood flow to places in the body where inflammation has choked it off. And so it really gets deep into the body and it gives the body the oxygen it needs. That oxygen does two powerful things. One is energy. And to your point, doctor, when the body doesn't have enough energy, one of the first things the cells stop doing is taking out the trash. They just say let it build up in the cell wall. And when you re energize them, then they can take the toxins out of the cell walls. And then I the body is cleared of these toxins and they can work optimally. The oxygen also helps oxidize these toxins and breaks them down. So your elimination organs can get them out of the body, but then your body has the energy it needs to do all of its vital functions, whether it's your liver, whether it's your red blood cells, every part of your body, the energy production is gated by oxygen. So when we give it the oxygen, it's able to do what it needs, and then it also directly fights the inflammation. So if we can turn that inflammation off, we can detoxify the body, we can give you the energy we need, and then lastly it will kill the Lyme bacteria itself. And so all of these work in concert, and so you're getting a detoxification, you're killing the Lyme, you're re energizing your body, and you're doing all of these things in just 15 minutes, which is what makes it so powerful. [00:25:38] Speaker B: That's awesome. Well, Brad, this has been fantastic. What a powerful tool. And you're absolutely right. The Lyme community out there, some of them are up in hundreds of thousands and costs on the different therapies. And to have a tool like this, that's not very expensive at all, that they can have at home, it's so empowering and brings so much hope. Thank you so much. And we'll have a link in the notes for associated with the podcast so people can connect and purchase this kind of system, if that's what they're interested in and also learn more about it. And how else can they learn more? Are they able to reach out to you and chat with your company? [00:26:32] Speaker C: Absolutely. One of the things we try to do is be there for our customers. We know it's a, you know, it's a learning process to understand Ewat and what it can do for you. And if you guys have questions, reach out to us. We're here. There'll be a real person that'll pick up the phone and answer your questions. [00:26:49] Speaker B: Beautiful. Well, Brad, thank you so much. It's been awesome.
